*Job Title: 1162210: Security Splunk Analyst* *Location: Raleigh, NC* *Duration: 6 months+* Description: The client seeks an Splunk Security Analyst to join the USPS (CISO) security operations team. Candidate must have specific experience using Splunk to identify possible security vulnerabilities or events. Candidate must then be able to track down root cause of these events and work with CIRT team to bring these events to remediation. Note: Resource must be onsite in Raleigh, NC. No remote work. Required Skills: • BS/BA in related discipline Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related Math or Science discipline. In addition to 5+ years of experience in any related Information Technology field. Will consider additional related industry experience in lieu of degree. • Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, specifically Splunk, and security event correlation. • 2 years Splunk experience, specifically Splunk 6. • Experience with installing, configuring, and administering Splunk • Strong Linux skills • Knowledge of proper security design philosophy. • Excellent troubleshooting skills, self-motivated, results-driven and well organized. • Proven Security Operation experience • Must have excellent communication skills(written and verbal) and have the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management. Preferred Skills: • Experience in clustered Enterprise Splunk deployment • CISSP, Security +, or related information security certification. • PCI knowledge • CIRT experience Additional Provisions • Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check. • Once candidate’s resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process. • If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance. • All candidates must be a US Citizen, have permanent residence status (Green Card), or an H1-B Visa. • Cannot have more than 6 months cumulative travel outside the United States within the last five years.
