*Job Title: : Chief Architect*
*Location : Lansing, MI*
*Duration : 1 Year*
*Position Description :*
This position is for one (1) Chief Architect to work on Driver and Vehicle
Projects. There are 2 major applications- a public facing web application
used by the public to primarily renew registrations and driver licenses and
a thick client application used by motor vehicle clerks and the Department
of State to register and title motor vehicles, obtain driver license and
personal identification cards, register voters, and manage approximately 20
million vehicles and 8 million driver and identification card holders. The
Chief Architect will be responsible for architecting a synchronization
solution between SQL Server and DMSII.
This position, under State direction, will complete the following tasks:
• Develop data migration scripts to load system with data from various data
sources Architect enterprise database solution to keep SQL Server DBMS in
sync with DMSII database.
• Develop plans and steps needed to execute data migration processes.
• Work with users to architect data migration mappings Create stored
procedure scripts that will update/correct data issues.
• Create data migration execution documentation so it is a repeatable
process.
• Execute data migration test and production scripts
• Monitor the performance of data migration software, updates/maintains as
needed.
• Create documentation and training materials for data migration staff.
• Develop and document all data migration components of system.
*Skills Required:*
Experience architecting enterprise data migration solutions where databases
involved are SQL Server and DMSII. Experience writing and updating stored
procedures using a SQL Server database management system. Experience
designing and analyzing databases Experiencing updating models using the
ERWIN modelling tool. Experience performing large enterprise data migrations
*Experience Required:*
At least 10 years experience with data synchronization with legacy DMS II
DBMS and SQL Server databases. At least 10 years experience in designing
data models in SQL Server. At least 10 years experience using the ERWIN
data modeling tool. At least 10 years experience with enterprise-wide data
conversion effort where database size is TB range. At least 5 years
experience writing stored procedures and processes to support data
synchronization efforts.
*Education Required:*
A bachelor's degree or higher with not less than 21 semester (32 term)
hours in computer science, data processing, computer information systems,
data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, or
mathematics
*Candidate Evaluation Criteria:*
Experience with data synchronization with legacyDMS II DBMS and SQL Server
Data bases 7 years
Experience in designing data models in SQL
Server

Experience writing stored procedures using SQL Server to support data
migrations 10 Years
Experience with Enterprise wide data conversion effort where database size
