*Position: Security Engineer*

*Location: Irvine, CA(Locals only)*

*Duration: 1+ year*

I have a need for a Security Engineer for a 1+ year contract in Irvine.



Security Engineer is responsible for protecting company information and
systems through the selection, deployment, management and support of
appropriate technical security controls. These controls include firewalls,
IDS/IPS, Proxy and Web filtering, malware protection and authentication
solutions. ESS interprets company security policy, standards and directives
from the Information Security Office, and then takes measures to build
secure solutions that meet those requirements. Security reports on
performance and potential incidents are generated and provided to
management on a regular basis.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
-Ensures that all firewall and proxy service tickets generated in Service
Now are acknowledged, allocated, progressed and resolved in line with SLAs
and severity
-Works on and resolves security service and problem tickets and actions
change requests
-Attend change management meetings representing the teams changes to the
change board
-Reporting on security incidents and significant problem cases
-Monitors and responds to automated or verbal alerts of potential or
confirmed system failures, outages, performance issues, or security
breaches.
-Monitors and analyzes system logs to identify systems security trends
-Under direction, installs, configures, initializes, and maintains
firewalls that protect the network from intrusion, threats and compromises.
Sets up and configures security devices, applies filtering rules, and
performs other tasks required to activate these services
-Implements network security guidelines to protect network infrastructures
-Interact and escalate with members of ESS, CIT or Vendor technical support
to identify and resolve an issue.
-Communicate the issue, resolution strategy, and progress to appropriate
individuals / parties until the issue has been resolved. Communicate the
need for any follow-up tasks.
-Modify any impacted documentation to reflect process, procedure, or
configuration changes.
-Create documentation when required
-Ability to be on call as scheduled for afterhours support
-Performs security scans on servers
-Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments and Interprets vulnerability
scan reports
-Develops systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery
procedures

* FACTORS FOR SUCCESS*
-Able to use individual judgment and initiative with the ability to work
with minimum supervision and direction.
-Understand and interpret Security standards and policies
-Have a good security background with a demonstrable understanding of risk,
threats, attack methods and compliance
-Be familiar with and have experience of implementing, managing and
supporting industry leading security technologies including firewalls,
proxy services, web filtering, authentication solutions, IDS/IPS
