- *This is a primarily a Development / Programming position on a high
performance quality assurance automation team*
- *Advanced programming knowledge in C# and UFT (or similar scripting
language is required)*
- 5 to 7+ years of QA work experience.
- Strong PC *environment knowledge* regarding communications, hardware,
and *virtualization* to be able to *troubleshoot environment vs. PC
application issues*.
- Strong PC testing experience with Windows 7, 8.1, 10 – *not* simply
using the operating system from a user perspective to access an Internet
browser and other test tools.
- Candidates we’ve interviewed recently do not have this – please vet
this thoroughly to avoid candidate rejection
- Strong PC application testing experience with *PC clients *– *not just
web based testing*.
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware and LAN to understand
application/hardware interactions and required testing.
- Kept current with the latest technology and is able to recommend and
implement significant process improvements.
- *High engagement and experience on large, complex applications*. This
applies to application size, number of test cases, requirements, defects,
and Development/QA/BA staff.
- Candidates without this level of experience will not have the
skills that scale to what we do.
- Strong experience with Requirements testing.

*Explanation for Position:*
This position is on the World Ship QA team. The candidate provides
mentorship/expertise in technologies/processes for I.S. & QA, maintains
awareness
of emerging technologies to ensure a competitive advantage, creates test
scenarios & expected outcomes, provides expertise for UPS key business
functions
& supporting technologies, applies a comprehensive knowledge of technical
skills,
principles, practices, & procedures of testing methodologies & working
knowledge
in planning, designing, & conducting QA reviews & inspections, conducts
comprehensive testing & risk-based assessments of the testing objects. This
position uses source docs as input & contributes to the
planning/implementation of
testing activities. The QA Specialist leads testing components of large &
complex
projects, assigns tasks, provides direction to resources, & reports
progress to
project stakeholders. She/he creates & selects tools & methodologies for
review &
approval by mgmt. The QA Specialist reports to the QA Lead.
*Details of Position:*
5 to 7+ years QA experience w/strong business/technical knowledge, planning,
analytical, risk management, & communication skills. Sound leadership
skills,
capable of being a QA Lead backup. Doesn’t accept things as they are &
pushes to
make things better. Has persistence & delivers high-quality consistent
results.
Results oriented & willingly takes on responsibilities. Analyzing business
requirements, does functional decompositions, creates traceability matrices
/ test
cases / checklists, performs test execution, identifies important
application defects,
runs defect review meetings, does defect analysis and trending, owns test
initiatives and functional test areas, has E2E experience/knowledge.
Flexible &
adapts to day-to-day changes. Has test tool expertise (Quality Center, MS
Excel/Access). Working experience w/Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10. Strong SDLC
process
knowledge/experience. Solution oriented; creative problem solving a must.
*Management Skills:*
Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication in order to effectively
work within QA team as well as
developers, users, and senior managers; self-directed and managed. Is able
to
drive change and results. Plans, tracks, follows up, delivers results,
assesses risk,
and adjusts to situations.
