*Title: Unix/AIX AdministratorLocation: Columbus, OhioDuration: 06 Months Contract* SUMMARY Design, implement, tune, and maintain UNIX-based servers in a heterogeneous operating system environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design, install and support AIX advanced virtualization (PowerVM) solutions. Ensure systems are built and maintained according to CBC security standards. Perform system patching for: AIX, HMC, firmware, and VCS. Monitor system performance and perform problem determination for all supported hardware and software. Perform on-going capacity planning. Perform disaster recovery exercises and maintain DR procedures. Create and update documentation on the installation of UNIX systems software and hardware configurations. Provide assistance in the planning of client/server projects from assessment through design and implementation. Provide OS technical guidance for application (Cache) administrators. Assist UNIX team with the installation, patching and support of Solaris and Linux systems. Required: Four year college or university degree, preferably in Computer Science; or a two year degree with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five years experience installing and maintaining AIX (5.x/6.x/7.x) operating systems hardware and software. A minimum of three years hands-on experience with IBM advanced virtualization (plan, build, maintain). Some experience installing and maintaining Sun/Solaris or Linux operating systems hardware and software. Some experience installing and maintaining Clustering software (Veritas, Sun, HACMP or Red Hat). A working knowledge of client/server relationships, personal computer hardware, storage area networks, local area networks, and cabling topologies. Programming experience with UNIX shell and/or Perl.
