*Duration: 2 months + Ext* *Position Summary* The SharePoint Business Analyst will be responsible for developing business solutions for Microsoft SharePoint applications by gathering and analyzing a client’s business processes, requirements, managing requirements, planning projects and designing and performing testing. *Responsibilities:* • Assist in developing project technology strategy by understanding key client objectives; diagnose and map client requirements; articulate solution risks and barriers; recommend project approaches; prepare time and cost estimates; plan full project life cycle • Create screen mockups and prototypes • Lead and participate in requirements gathering sessions with client business and IT personnel • Plan, conduct, document, and direct the analysis of complex business problems and processes • Translate business requirements to functional requirements • Document results from analysis • Meet with the business subject matter experts to ensure requirements meet expectations • Create specifications for systems to meet business requirements • Create design layouts for the system and define data requirements to support design • Identify, evaluate and develop systems and procedures, which are cost effective and meet user requirements • Design and develop custom applications utilizing SharePoint • Provide support to the SharePoint development team for functional requirement issues • Assist in the writing of the test plan • Write test cases & scripts • Conduct functional testing of the system • Assist in testing application to ensure that the application meets the functional requirements (traceability) • Document software defects; conduct defect disposition meetings • Maintain and enhance existing applications to accommodate changes in the business processes • Design and implement interfaces to legacy systems • Identify and incorporate performance tuning • Assist project manager with issue and risk identification • Manage Change Request (enhancement) process • Enhance overall team accomplishments and competence by answering technical and procedural questions for less-experienced team members; teach improved processes; mentor team members *Key Skills:* • 3-5 Years of Business Analyst Experience with 1-2 years SharePoint Analyst Experience • Must be able to create SharePoint sites, publish pages, populate content, configure SharePoint using the UI and create SharePoint proof of concepts following requirements gathering • Experience with a variety of business processes and working through process change methodologies, i.e. Reengineering, SixSigma, etc. • Familiarity with web based application development and technologies like SharePoint, J2EE, ASP.NET, XML, etc. • Experience with software development lifecycle • Familiarity with the Unified Process and Agile-style methodologies • Excellent Desktop Tools Skills, including Office 2007, Visio, MS Project *Other Requirements:* • BS in Business, Computer Science, or related field, Advanced Degree Preferred • Experience leading large group meetings/information gathering sessions with senior-level executives and excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with ability to function at both the detail and conceptual levels • Excellent business function and process analysis and visualization skills • Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, self-motivated, and excellent presentation skills • Previous Consulting experience a plus - consulting skills such as interviewing stakeholders, conducting architecture reviews, and consensus building preferred Thanks Arjun Mallik- Sr Executive Recruiter Sonoma Consulting, Inc.
