Interviews #1 webcam based, #2 in-person then a decision is made.* *Managed Services Criteria: * · Extensive experience with Java Development on JBoss/MySQL/Linux platform using Spring, Struts 2, and Hibernate frameworks. · Extensive experience with public facing websites as well as deep understanding and implementation of scalability principles to ensure that developed components can scale to handle significant load. · Experience with general security principles required for public facing web sites to ensure users cannot attack developed applications or other users. Within an Agile environment with minimal QA, it is absolutely essential that the developer be solely responsible for the highest Quality work product without relying on others to find errors. · Performs the mission critical complex software design, development, enhancement, improvement, and maintenance support for AARP.org <http://aarp.org> applications. · Participates as active team contributor of team to provide design, development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of custom Web Applications. Ensures that all issues are resolved to meet client expectations. *Responsibilities:* · Serves as a part of a development team that provides new services, enhancements, features, etc. for AARP.org <http://aarp.org>. · Develops, tests, and implements internet applications using enterprise approved technologies to ensure high performance and security in production environment. · Manages the Internet and departmental intranet web servers, and applications (both purchased and developed). · Monitors public facing and departmental web servers and applications to ensure the web sites and applications are functioning properly. · Takes corrective action when hardware or software issues are discovered. · Provides best practice guidance to colleagues and clients during web project discovery and strategy phase to ensure applications developed in support of internet projects will be stable, secure, scalable, and maintainable. · Available for off hours and "on-call" support for production systems on a rotating basis. *Desired Minimum Education and Work Experience* *Required Skills:* · Bachelor's degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline and 4-6 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position. · Extensive expertise developing highly scalable, consumer facing web sites, including ability to understand and develop for security and scalability requirements unique to public web sites (rather than Enterprise/Intranet sites). · Extensive expertise with Java/J2EE development, database engineering, 3rd party software integration, and multi-tier applications architecture. · Extensive hands on expertise with Java frameworks including Struts 2, Spring, Hibernate, and Web services. · Extensive expertise with Java, JSP, JBoss, source code management (Subversion), and build/deployment process/tools (Ant); · Experienced with SQL and relational databases (preferably MySQL); · Experienced in developing within an Agile/SCRUM methodology. *Preferred Skills:* · Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, jQuery, XML, XSLT, Web Services, REST, SOAP. · Experience with Continuous Integration and related tools (Jenkins/CruiseControl/Maven). · Experience integrating third party solutions (Remote API) including Pluck Social Network and Endeca Search. *Client Environment: * Business casual.
