*Greetings from SONOMA CONSULTING..!* Below is the requirement with our client and kindly review the details as below and if you feel interested in the job position please send me a copy of your updated resume along with your details.. *Job Title: Microstrategy Architect* *Location: Las Vegas, NV* *Duration: 10 Months* *Summary * The MicroStrategy Architect position will have a focus on developing, maintaining and supporting EDW Business Intelligence (BI) Applications using MicroStrategy 9.4.1 and implementing best practices and procedures. The position will primarily focus on requirements gathering, dimensional modeling, and MicroStrategy architect. The position will also assist with MicroStrategy administration, development, application security, tuning/performance improvements, package creation/migration, training, and any other task related to the MicroStrategy implementation as required. The position will work directly with other IT application groups and end-users to analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and enhance applications. *Essential Job Functions* Directly responsible for providing leadership and technical direction of MicroStrategy design, architecture, development, implementation, and standardization. Create dimensional models and modifications at the database layer. Perform hands on development utilizing MicroStrategy Architect and Developer. Analyze existing Data Warehouse capabilities and provide recommendations for modifications to enhance the performance of the MicroStrategy application. *Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following: * · Provide leadership, guidance, and technical expertise for the MicroStrategy implementation project. · Design robust implementation solutions for the conversion of existing Cognos reports/capabilities to the MicroStrategy platform. · Implement best practice solutions for MicroStrategy architecture/design. · Work with business users to gather requirements and define solutions for BI implementations. · Provide technical data stewardship for the data in the data warehouse, how it is stored, modifications required, and how it should be used with the MicroStrategy application. · Create dimensional models to support best implementation solutions for MicroStrategy. · Perform hands on changes at the database layer including creating new tables and views to support the design. · Perform MicroStategy administrative tasks as required. · Assume technical leadership role supporting entire development staff through coaching on technical skills, influencing product interface direction, managing standards and approving system modifications. · Manage concurrent Development & Support issues while multiple projects are modifying the same program. · Formulate systems scope and objectives by devising procedures to solve technical problems using information systems. · Design, code and test MicroStrategy solutions. · Prepare detailed specifications for design and implementation. · Demonstrate complex problem-solving skills by defining the presenting technical system solutions for identified technical issues. · Demonstrate project management skills by managing large, complex development projects that require large technical modifications. · Document activities from design to completion to assist future analysts in understanding work solutions. Ensure documentation completion for overall project. · Review support incidents for technical problems. Ensure technical guidelines/requirements and department standards are followed by team members in testing, development, controls and documentation. · Maintain and develop relationship with clients, users and other I.T. employees, company-wide. Act as a liaison between I.T. and user/client areas. · Ensure project scope remains “in alignment” with stated departmental objectives, clients business needs, and budgetary measures. · Maintain frequent high quality communications with clients and all other affected individuals/ areas of projects and support, including project meetings, project plans, financial performance, project scope and key assumptions, dates, etc. · Establish and maintain good working relationship with clients, users, service providers, product managers and engineering team members. · Create and communicate a long-term vision, balancing short and long-term goals. · Create and adjust strategic plans based on industry/external trends and inputs. · Ensure proper test scope definition and scheduling, improving testing productivity without compromising coverage. · Design testing solutions for each phase of the testing cycle and tools to mitigate risks and issues; is able to innovate and integrate testing processes. · Ensure integration with overall system delivery and deployment *Knowledge and Experience* 5 - 7 years BI modeling experience with an additional three years of project leadership, systems design/analysis and user management. · 6+ years work experience in job with Business Intelligence analysis, design, implementation, development, training and testing is required. · 5+ years work experience with physical and logical database modeling. · 5+ years work experience with data warehousing is required. · 5+ years work experience with dimensional modeling is required. · Extensive knowledge of database uses and design is required. · Expert level ability to understand and write Structured Query Language (SQL) is required. · Understanding of OLAP, ROLAP, and MOLAP concepts is required. · 4+ years work experience with MicroStrategy Architect and Developer is required. · 3+ years work experience with MicroStrategy Administration is required. · Experience with other Business Intelligence tools such as Cognos and Tableau is preferred. · Experience with Teradata is preferred.
