*Job Description*
Ensure the smooth operation of our client’s voice and data network in order
to provide maximum performance and availability for the system users.
Responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting LAN, WAN
and VoIP infrastructures at all locations. Provides high–level technical
support for voice and data network systems, creates and maintains network
documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works
projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication
equipment and procedures. Must be well versed with the advanced engineering
and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network
security devices and network management systems. This position requires
excellent problem management and customer service skills.

*Responsibilities include:*
• Performs equipment product evaluations. Recommends alterations to
development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
• Performs the analysis, design and development of new initiatives.
Develops business cases for requests for new or additional hardware or
software.
• Responsible for the design, development, implementation, analysis and
functionality of our client’s internal network (wired and wireless), voice
(including VoIP), and connections between offices and communication to
Internet (LAN switching, Routing, QoS, VPN, IP acceleration).
• Install, configure, and maintain monitoring and management tools needed
to provide services, resolve problems, and manage growth. Maintain and
update network documentation. Plan and implement changes in bandwidth
capacity as required. Responsible for contracts negotiation with service
providers.
• Day to day operational support including adherence to SLAs and the
coordination with management to resolve issues relating to service delivery.

*The Ideal Candidate*
Ideal candidate should have strong Network Engineering technical skills
with a proven track record planning, evaluating, designing, engineering,
implementing, and maintaining a Network environment. This candidate should
have experience analyzing and making recommendations to the
network/infrastructure environment to improve overall efficiency.
• Candidate should have 3-6 years of networking experience.
• Technical expertise and knowledge of the following:
• Network design methodologies and principles (resilience, redundancy,
security, management, VOIP, wireless, LAN & WAN, etc).
• Familiar with multiple network management tools using Netflow, SNMP,
logging and other channels to maintain a comprehensive picture of the
overall network health.
• LAN & WAN protocols and technologies: VLANs, 802.11d, 802.1w,
Etherchannel TCP/IP, NAT, Syslog, SNMP, 802.1q, DAI, dot1x, HSRP, VRRP,
VSS, EIGRP, BGP, NAT, Netflow, SNMP, Syslog, ACLs/RACLs/VACLs, IPSec, GRE
and OSPF.
• Hands on experience with most of the following: Cisco Nexus 7000, 9000,
2000 series, Cisco 6500, 3750, 3560 and Juniper switches, Cisco 2800 & 3800
series routers, Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet firewalls, F5 load balancers, Cisco
wireless controllers
• Cisco SecureACS, WCS, Wireshark.
• Familiar with the networking aspects of VMware.
• Knowledge of video conferencing and voice technologies including VoIP
(Avaya and Cisco preferred)
• Required: BS Information Technology/MIS or equivalent work experience.
CCNP, CCNA, CCSP or CCDA

*Preferred Skills*
• 2-3 years of systems administration experience.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and products.
• Excellent ability to manage time and prioritize work load.
• Strong project management experience.
• Ability to accommodate to a rapidly shifting work load.
• Willingness and ability to perform root cause analysis
• Willingness and ability to perform complex technical and non-technical
analysis.
• Customer-minded and attention to detail is vitally necessary. Must show
ability to independently follow-up on details until problem is resolved.
• Exceptional relationship building skills with special focus on making a
great lasting impression.
• Familiarity with SLAs and adherence to these.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Candidate must be able to hit the ground running. Must be able to work with
a team, as well as independently. Proven track record of top-notch customer
service skills, tactful when dealing with customers and all levels of
management.
