5-6 yrs Experience as a Data Warehouse BA working with data primarily in
business functional areas
Higher Ed, Medical or Research environment
*Day to Day : *
Building an academic data warehouse and are building upon a current
existing platform, basically adding more functional areas to the DW. They
have rolled out about ½ of requirements so far (approx. 6 total). This BA
will work with clients and dev team to translate business needs to
appropriate data model. The clients are internal faculty members or deans
or enrollment services or student services groups. Their data is coming
from multiple sources, use Microstrategy for ETL. At the end of the
project, they will have a functioning academic data warehouse that
satisfies reporting need from the counsel of dean and provost office.

The IT Business Analyst will discover, validate, document and communicate
business processes and requirements. The business analyst is an integral
part of project teams and responsible for understanding and representing
the client's requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The business
analyst will report to the Program Manager or Lead Project Manager focusing
on projects in a specific program area, and may on occasion be assigned to
projects in other program areas.
The candidate will be working closely with senior level employees,
including deans and members of the budgeting office. Must be professional
and have high level written/verbal communication skills.
Ideal candidate would have experience in Higher Education working with
faculty and student data primarily in business functional areas of
Financial Aid and Faculty data.
