*Title: **IBM Netezza administrator* *Duration: 18+ Months * *Location: Fort Worth, TX * *Interview: TELEPHONIC+SKYPE* *Client: AIG* *Must be USC, GC or EAD-GC* Job Description: Experienced IBM Netezza administrator/architect to provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of Netezza deployments, implementation, and support. Responsibilities include: • Function as SME on Netezza architecture, design, networking, replication, DR, etc. • Continuously monitor the health and performance of Netezza appliances • Maintain close collaboration with application and database teams to ensure uptime and availability • Develop and maintain operational runbooks • Develop and maintain DR runbooks • Assist in DR testing and evaluation • Initiate, track and resolve all issues; work with IBM Support via PMR as necessary • Collaborate with other analytics and ETL platform SMEs to develop roadmaps and future state Job Requirements: • 5+ years of experience on Netezza appliances and deployments • Expert level experience in Netezza appliance infrastructure design • 7+ years of experience in Linux-based systems or database administration • Hands-on experience with production deployments on Netezza appliances • Strong understanding of best practices and standards for Netezza database design and implementation • Netezza administration experience that includes: o Backup & Recovery o DR, Replication & High Availability (PTS, custom solutions) o Call-home configuration o Capacity planning, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning o developing/maintaining/updating runbooks • Strong understanding of relational databases (RDBMS) • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with cross-functional, international team • Understanding of enterprise ETL tools (e.g. DataStage) is preferred • Experience with other highly-scalable or distributed RDBMS (Teradata, Greenplum etc.) is preferred • Experience with Statistical Modeling, Data Mining and/or Machine Learning is preferred *Experience Preferred: 7 – 10 Years on Linux/UNIX OS platforms * *5 – 7 years on Netezza * Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) *Thanks & Rega**rds* *Sr. Technical Resource Specialist* *214-628-5329\ [email protected] <[email protected]>* *1200 W Walnut Hill Ln.
