Responsibilities: Management of all Non-Video CPE devices 1. Own and drive the whole release process… defect management, vendor management and coordination, firmware releases, test organization, communications plan, metrics, roadmap support, etc 2. Analytical leadership skills are important 3. Must be able to use tools… grab data, identify trends, analytical skills, etc 4. This is a lead technical position so candidate needs to be technically strong. Must have a good understanding of the following technologies – Docsis, Moca, WiFi, TR69, SMNP, Voice, CMTS, CMTA, Voice, CPE, etc. 5. Be able to report back and claim ownership of workstreams; should understand the need to respond and act quickly 6. Support automation plans and product test groups including defect analysis and recommendations 7. Support efficient processes for faster, higher quality releases 8. Contribute feedback and guidance to the development of functional and technical specifications for voice and data CPE 9. Effectively communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders towards the creation and implementation of features that do not negatively impact core requirements and other product integration. 10. Troubleshoot data and voice device issues in a lab environment 11. Drive multiple vendors roadmaps to align with Comcast business/technical needs Requirements MUST HAVE SKILLS: The first 3 items below are hard skills that are deal breakers. • Experience with Data & voice devices • Operation/Troubleshooting on wifi devices and gateways • Working knowledge of broadband technologies – TR69, Voice, DOCSIS, Wifi, etc • Knowledge of Headend components / functions is a plus • Knowledge of how CPE devices function at the SOC or driver level is desirable Hard skills: • Analytical and development skills on CPE voice and data devices • Some knowledge and/or working experience with scripting and programming languages. Must be able to write, read, interpret and review. • Unit test frameworks / automation • Knowledge and experience of broadband industry is a plus • Excellent knowledge of software development methodologies and processes • Knowledge of MSO Headend components / functions – this is optional Soft Skills: • Strong communication skills both at an individual and team level • Effective organizational skills; ability to multi-task. • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, and public. • Ability to think analytically and to develop new or revised systems, procedures, and work flow. • Ability to document process and changes effectively. • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and present ideas clearly and concisely in written and oral form.
