*Role:Cognos BI developer* *Location: Portland, OR* *Duration:6 months* *Interview: Phone then Skype* *Must have healthcare background* *Summary:* *Systems Analysis:* Facilitates customer requests for new or changed solutions. Conducts customer requirements workshops, develops options with recommendation, creates functional specifications including performance requirements, creates test plans to confirm delivered functionality. Defines and writes technical documentation related to systems and applications as necessary. *Systems Engineering:* Develops Cognos BI solutions, primarily with Cognos Report Studio, Workspace, Workspace Advanced and Framework Manager. Development and maintenance will follow standards. Works closely with other IT staff to meet expectations for design reviews and coding standards. Provides issue resolution during Quality Assurance / User testing. Assists with the move to production/implementation process. *Systems Engineering/User Support:* Provides technical expertise to support end users developing ad-hoc queries and departmental reports. Support could include consulting on techniques/best practices, troubleshooting of their solutions, as well as promotion of user developed solutions to QA and Production. *Systems Administration/Data:* Use an approved query tool (Cognos Query, SQL, etc.) to identify data quality and data relationships to assist with the design of efficient and effective reporting solutions. Provide support to data warehouse developers, line-of-business analysts and users to validate data in the data warehouse. Investigate and report on problems and work to ensure the validity of the data warehouse. *Systems Administration/Jobs:* This could include scheduling reports in Cognos Scheduler, Oracle Job scheduler, and other schedule solutions. *Project Management:* Will fully understand and utilize the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and procedures. Will manage projects by creating timelines, identifying risks and milestones, and providing status reporting to others as defined. *Issue Management:* Respond to and track issues using Service Manager and other issue management tools. Gather additional information from the customers. Triage the issue and resolve or escalate by involving additional team members as required *Experience:* · Minimum two years paid work experience as an Application Engineer (or equivalent classification) using an Enterprise BI tool (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects, Crystal Reporting). · Experience with facilitating and documenting system requirements sessions. · Experience with developing Cognos Framework Manager Models. · Experience creating technical documentation of reports and data/report models. · Experience with utilizing star schema data stores as the basis for report development. · Minimum three years working with relational databases. · Three years’ experience creating reports using Enterprise BI tools preferred. · Three years’ experience with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Tools (Report Studio, Query Studio, Metrics Studio, Workspace) · Three years’ experience with developing Cognos Framework Manager Models · Experience with automated software testing tools including test script development. *Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):* · Proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills. · Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures. · Ability to read and explain a data model. · Ability to read, write and maintain SQL Code. · Experience gathering and documenting business requirements. · Experience planning and managing small projects. · Demonstrate Core Competencies as established for your position (Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Leaders, Leading Function) · Two years’ experience with Oracle PL/SQL coding and tuning. · Experience with a data modeling tool such as ERwin or ER Studio. · Experience developing at an academic medical center or healthcare related organization. · Conceptual understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Mart Regards *Himanshu* 978-558-4666 x 104 *[email protected]* <[email protected]> 8875 Hidden River Parkway Suite 300 Tampa,FL 33637 *www.*teknavigators.com DISCLAIMER: This message and any attachments are solely for the use of the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information that is privileged or confidential.
