Major upcoming projects include a migration of this site from its current platform to a new Heroku/Contentful platform, as well as building and deploying several “bolt-on” applications that launch from and/or interact with this site. A major project will be to *deliver the design and implementation of a solution to integrate data sourced from the MD IT Information Hub into the website*. This will be done via an OData web services layer, such that the data can be synchronized, modified, reviewed, approved, and used in the application’s data layer. *This individual will:* - Work closely with our implementation vendor to design a solution consistent with Digital Reference Architecture (DRA) and the architectural vision for this solution - Think critically about the DRA and proposed technical architecture, and if appropriate propose any required exceptions to the DRA or updates to the proposed solution architecture. - Be responsible for working with the internal team supporting the Information Hub and a vendor contracted to design and build the necessary application data layer and integration. (This individual will be part of the application team, not the Information Hub team.) - Bring technical skills and leadership skills to get the task completed via a combination of their individual effort and the vendors’ technical resources. - Drive to understand and refine requirements, while working with the vendor, as well as to identify risks due to technology, requirements, and business processes. - Have access to business analysts working on the project as well as be expected to bring progress and risks to the program technical lead. The larger application, which is the consumer of the application data layer, is a public facing web application being constructed on the Heroku platform. The application data layer will be constructed with integrations between Contentful CMS, Force, Heroku Postgres, and Heroku Redis. This individual will be responsible for work to insure the integration of the Information Hub OData web services layer into the application data layer as being designed and built by the vendor. This individual may also own or contribute to other “bolt-on” development projects for the larger application / solution, depending on need and the individual’s skills and experiences. *Expectations of this individual are:* - Proven real world use of the technologies, - A thorough understanding and knowledge of the technologies to be able to explain the features available for use, and when to use them versus another technology - Ability to work directly with business customers and have clear and production communications with them. - Ability to appropriately “push back” on IT vendor partner, IT team, and/or business team when a stated requirement, design, or deliverable will not meet the goal of the project or comply with our standards. - Teach/train other team members on the design and solution and how to support the solution. *We are seeking a resource with demonstrated work deliverables utilizing the following technologies:* - Contentful CMS - Heroku and data related Add-ons like Heroku Postgres and Redis - OData - JSON - Relational Database Models, ERDs, … - Restful web services - ****NOTE: Please ensure the response or resume contains specific examples of experience with the above technologies.* *Secondary Technical Skills, not required but helpful to understand the larger project include:* - Responsive, Mobile First web design and development technologies including: - Node.js - AngularJS - Bootstrap - Fundamental technologies for HTML5 development, ex.
