Role: PHP Developer Duration: Above 7 months Location: New Haven, CT 06511 Description: The Software Engineer is responsible for development, support and maintenance of many client facing applications to support the Association of Yale Alumni (AYA) and the Office of Development. The position will also be required to participate development, support and maintenance of the Office of Development constituent relationship management system (CRM) Principal Responsibilities & Skills: • Work as a apart of software development team to deliver and maintain systems for Alumni Affairs and Development • Responsible for developing and maintaining numerous Online Giving pages and interfacing with credit card applications. • Responsible for developing and maintaining data integrations between Customer Relationship Management application and outside systems using flat files, ODBC connection, APIs, Endpoints etc. • This position is responsible for content management of numerous Yale websites. • Ability to design efficient interfaces using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) • Responsible for production support of various AYA and Office of Development systems and applications Skill Set: • Ability to work in a team of highly skilled technical developers. • Capable of taking valuable input from experts and adjust design to incorporate those inputs. • Adjusts readily to multiple demands by shifting priorities; ability to multi-task. • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, with thorough attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills • Expertise in Object Oriented Programming and design. Must Have: • Proven track record in working on various open source web application platforms using a wide range of programming languages. • Understanding of Web Service technologies, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and experience in web service development using SOAP services • Ability to maintain and build new systems utilizing Open Source tools and technologies like Ruby on Rails. • Knowledge of Drupal administration. • Experience in HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON • Experience in Unix/Linux/Perl Scripting • Understanding of proper code management and deployment techniques. Nice to Have: • Experience in Database Design, Development and administration. • SQL Server 2014 and T-SQL programming skills • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). • Experience in VB and C# programming. • Experience with Oracle Financials to help with integrations • Experience in test driven development.
