We are currently working on filling an exciting new contract opportunity for an *VMWare Engieer* position that will be based out in *Parsippany, NJ*. *Job Title: VMWare Engineer* *Location: Parsippany, NJ* *Duration: Long Term* *This is a high-visibility position with a leading corporation for a VMWare resource with VSphere 6 experience and aptitude for our client interaction.* *Resource will perform the following activities:* *VMware vSphere 6.x activities:* *Complete Service Lifecycle Management for the VMware vSphere 6.x platform:* · Planning Process · Technical Design · Release Build · Release Test · Release Deployment · Implementation of the VMware vSphere 6.x platform · Deployment of the VMware vSphere 6.x platform *Windows Platform Support Tasks:* · Resolving problems which are escalated to the team by various BTI teams · Evaluating security risks and requirements to verify the appropriate solutions are in place to protect the environment per current policies · Supporting implementation of required Windows and VMware builds · Supporting the remote desktop environment toolset (Terminal Services) environment · Executing the design, development, and deployment of minor Operating System (OS) releases and upgrades · Completing Windows Security Patching Engineering and Testing including: · Hosting and Connectivity Hotfixing Bundles · Hardware Templates (Job Aids) · Global Core Windows Server Build – Media Distribution Point (MDP) Share Maintenance · Global Core Windows Server Build – Server build review & rollouts · Performing onsite support for the Peapack, NJ (PPK) lab, performing tasks including: · Obtaining IP addresses and DNS names · Hardware reconfigurations · Storage allocation (in the lab environment only) · Acquisition of gear for the lab’s pool of shared inventory · Support of Engineering team owned gear · Design / Creation / Maintenance of the lab’s virtual infrastructure · Coordination with the other teams who support the lab · Self-repair of gear with local parts stock & coordination for vendor repairs. · Best-effort support of guest’s systems – dependent on resource availability and prioritization · Other tasks related to supporting the Windows platform and Engineering team assigned by the manager Sonoma Consulting, Inc.
