Role: Sr .Net Developer Duration: Above 6 months Location: New Haven, CT 06511 Interview: Face to Face after Telephonic Preferred Only Eastern Candidates Summary: This position supports vendor application solutions which provide administrative support for the University’s research mission. This position is focused primarily on supporting the daily operations of vendor package solutions, including coordinating patches, upgrades, testing API’s, and ensuring the packages and API’s are running efficiently. This position is also focused on supporting and maintaining data integration solutions. Essential Duties: 1. Support activities to implement vendor software patches and upgrades. Work closely with the vendor, clients, and ITS to schedule and coordinate vendor and ITS activities, including frequent deployments from development to production environments. 2. Work with the vendor, ITS, and clients to test patches and upgrades. 3. Develop scripts as required. 4. Develop and run ad-hoc reports to analyze data. 5. Assist with troubleshooting application problems and the resolution of same. 6. Work closely with ITS and client personnel to support the daily operations of the applications and upgrades. 7. Position may require off-hours system support. 8. Develop documentation detailing applications, procedures, and systems developed or supported. 9. Develop, support, and maintain WebMethods integrations. 10. Develop, support, and maintain Talend integrations. 11. Periodic off-hours support Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field and a minimum of ten years’ experience in the support of vendor and custom applications. 1. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. 2. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with ITS and client personnel 3. Excellent organizational skills, including keeping track of multiple issues, problems, and priorities. 4. Experience with .NET framework (ASP.NET, VB.NET), MVC, C#, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, XML, and VBA. 5. Windows script development experience 6. Experience implementing and managing vendor packaged solutions. 7. Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server 2008/2012), and the ability to compose SQL scripts, queries, and procedures using Transact-SQL and PLSQL 8. Experience with Windows server architecture (Windows 2008), application server concepts, and the understanding of Windows permissions and Active Directory 9. Experience with WebMethods, and the development and support of integrations using WebMethods. 10. Experience with Talend, and the development and support of integrations using Talend. Preferred, but not required: 1. Experience with general Web architecture, such as browsers and middle tier technologies 2. Experience with SSIS and SSRS 3. Familiar with Web services and WSDL’s 4. Familiar with version control systems, such as SVN 5. Familiar with release management, deployment management, service management, and QA processes 6. Familiar with a variety of technologies and tools, such as HP Deployment manager, Hibernate, Visual Studio, Informatica, and other reporting tools. 7. Previous experience working in Research Administration application support with products such as eSirius. 8. Experience with Oracle Forms and Java 9.
