*Position: SysOps Administrator * *Location: Rockville, MD* *Duration: 6 months* Need 8+ years of experience Here is the job description: *Must have AWS Certified AWS Cloud Administrator* *Job Description:* This position is part Clients team working as technical support engineer on all our current contracts supporting internal as well as external requirements. The candidate in this position will be responsible for handling Engineering and IT operational projects and technical support calls and issues related to hybrid setup involving cloud and on premise networks, servers, desktops and any IT or telecommunications related infrastructure: *Job Responsibilities:* • Deploy, manage, and operate highly available, scalable and self-healing systems on AWS • Replicate databases and migrate existing on-premises application to AWS • Select the most appropriate AWS service based on compute, data, or security requirements • Identify appropriate use of AWS architecture and operational best practices • Estimate AWS usage costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms • Define, deploy and monitor metrics and logs on AWS • Perform implementation, maintenance and optimization of network hardware, software, and communication links of the cloud infrastructure. Setup VPC • Perform setup, configuration and operations on networking devices including routers, firewalls, content monitoring systems, load balancers and network switches. • Evaluate, test and install security updates using automated tools & software • Provide Tier 1-3 help desk support to clients in a professional and timely manner. • Assist in the planning and implementation of system security and disaster recovery plans. Implement security controls based in accordance with government laws and regulations. • Troubleshoot advanced hardware and software problems *Functional Responsibilities:* • Regularly contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards • Constantly looking for fine tuning existing processes to reduce costs and improve reliability of services. • Apply expertise and possess knowledge of related disciplines • Conduct seminars, training and presentations on topics of interest to the Center for Information Technology Group *Required Skills:* • MS in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related field • 8+ years of experience as System Administrator, Network Administrator or Database Administrator • 2+ years of experience supporting highly available AWS cloud environment • Significant knowledge and experience with Windows 2008/2012, Virtualization (HyperV/VMware), Dell/HP servers, Security devices (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.) • AWS Certification such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator required • Cisco CCNA, CCNP certifications or Oracle certification a plus *Non-technical skills:* • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent problem solving skills.
