We are currently working on filling an exciting new contract opportunity for an *DevOps Engineer *position that will be based out in *Marlborough, MA*. *Job Title: DevOps Engineer* *Location: Marlborough, MA* *Duration: 6+ Months* We are looking for candidates with a strong Linux background and build the linux infrastructure using AWS *Keys to the Position:* · 5+ years’ experience on Red Hat Linux and VMware - They are both a requirement · 2+ years’ experience on AWS – VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53,ELB, CloudFormation and CloudWatch - AWS experience is a must · Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Knowledge of storage platform – XtremeIO and VNX – this is a plus – should have some knowledge of storage platforms – we are using these systems · Knowledge of tomcat, apache web server, load balancer is a plus · Maintain, patch, ensure stability of the system, upgrade and move the environments to AWS. · Experience on developing automation code in SaltStack or Chef –this is a plus – prefer solid automation background · Having a coding background would be helpful · This person will be on call once every 3 weeks and it will be from 9am - 9pm. *Description:* This individual, as part of the Corporate Platform Services, will be responsible for supporting Red Hat Linux, VMware and AWS platform. The individual will be responsible for system build, backup, recovery, replication, high availability, upgrade and migration; the individual will also automate infrastructure operational processes *RESPONSIBILITIES* Daily activities and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: · Provisioning Linux based application infrastructure in AWS · Developing automation code for reducing operational support · Standardizing build, monitoring, patching, health checks, diagnostics and support · Performing failover testing, performance benchmark, security reviews, advance diagnostics, and troubleshooting · Performing server stability and risk assessments · Implementing back-up, recovery, cloning, archiving and conversion strategies · Supporting Linux virtual servers · Participating in 24X7 production support Sonoma Consulting, Inc.
