I was thinking of making a mailing list that would get cvs commit information each time there is a commit or maybe dump the cvs log into it. One would not even have to subscribe to that list all the time, but view the archive if you wanted to find out fairly recent commit information. A cvs commit mailing list could also help with code review to find bugs or problems introduced by new code faster. Each folder in the cvs version has a CVS folder that holds a file called Entries with revision numbers and dates in it. There might be something built into cvs that can check those.
Would anyone be interested in a cvs mailing list that gets email for each commit? Send it my commit comments is very easy, but it may be better to send the diff information which will take more work.
