I must have gotten confused here. I was sure this thread was on the 
frettedfriends list. I suppose quite a few of my comments were a bit off

Not so with La Bella. The silver seems to make a significant difference 
to the tone there. Maybe it's because they're steel wound.

Haven't tried them myself yet, but there's another lute player in this 
town who speaks very highly of them. I'm really looking forward to 
trying them.
