This is, I think, like an guitar maker nowadays work.
But look at

It is the homepage of  Marcel Renggli, who was a participant of the
Waldzither-conference in Suhl in 2003. He has studied the old Krienser
Instruments. He is a professional restorer and has done every research about
the Krienser Halszither you can think of.
His instrument of 1900 HAS a soundpost.
That is where all that idea startet.
On his homepage there is also some sheet music "Noten" .
If you want to hear some of the original music done on this thing, I will
ask Marcel, if I can copy his CD that was mastered on his own drive and
money from old tapes. I don't know the CD that is offered by Amazon (below).
I'm not so fit yet to put samples in MP3 format into the computer.
