I actually played several ren. guitar pieces on cittern when I used to 
play ren cittern regularly.  Some of it sat pretty well, especially one 
of Morlaye's settings of Conde Clare. It made me wonder why so much of 
the cittern rep is so dull compared to the guitar rep. It is a crazy 
tuning for melody, but some things do work well. It got to the point 
where I preferred the a g d' e' tuning, which is handy as that's the 
one I've got to use now.  By the way, I took Bermudo at his word one 
day and arranged some guitar music for the 18th-century tuning c e g c' 
e' g' - that works very well, too, if one chooses wisely. Remember that 
Kremberg says if you want to play his 5-c guitar tab on a 5-c cittern, 
just tune appropriately. He uses something like 7 different tunings, 
too.
