A Musical Walking Tour of the National Gallery of Scotland, The Mound, Edinburgh. Each Wednesday in August, 4.45 to 5.30pm. Free event.
Join leading lute and early guitar specialist, Rob MacKillop, on a unique musical tour of the gallery. The tour starts with a performance of music from the time of Raphael and Titian, before moving on to the Dutch Golden Age of Rembrandt, and finally the Scottish works depicting the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh. Rob will discuss the relationship between art and music, highlighting technical and social aspects. Discover how music can help you 'read' paintings, and vice-versa. Please note the start of the event, 4.45pm. The tour will commence upstairs in room 1A. To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
