I have absolutely no idea to be honest. So far only two Norwegian
manuscripts with cittern music have been discovered and one of them is a
bit dubious while the other only has a couple of songs with very simple
accopaniment parts. We know various variants of the cittern was fairly
well known in Norway but we have very little information about what they
were actually used for.
