Please upgrade to the latest FontForge version (from the CVS). In
case this doesn't help please report it to the FontForge mailing list.

Well, this message is self-explaining, isn't it? Either reduce the
`boldness' factor or make FontForge remove overlapping paths
afterwards -- in case this doesn't work you should it report to the
FontForge mailing list too.
