Hello, all;
While I had been very disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to
go to the COTW in San Jose last weekend, it turns out that my girls are
both in season so I wouldn't have been able to show after all.
Thankfully the AKC shows don't exclude bitches in season from
showing in breed classes: I had instead planned on a quick weekend
get-away with my GSP friend, we went down to the Coos Kennel Club in
the southern Oregon coastal town of Bandon this past weekend. My
little girl, Tilly, won her first and second points, with WB and BOS (over
my bitch special Jasmine - who is in season and prolly has a widdle
tummy ache and would've rather had a heating pad than been in the
ring!)!!! It's pretty pleasing for me to see that my gangly teenager is
finally growing up...
My little mini brag is that I won several really neat raffle prizes at
the show (making me feel guilty since Janet didn't win anything!)! My
UN-brag is that it was soooo windy that one of my contact lenses
sprouted wings and took off to sail around the world. Even after many
kind-hearted people spent a long time looking in the grass for the dang
thing, it was not to be found. I think that it's *still* airborne.... <sigh>
The two Cavalier girls & Gus, the studly-gotta-protect-his-harem
German Shorthair Pointer, had a wonderful time on the beach (we were
a block from an incredible national park/beach), although the fuzzy girls
had to have a mini bath afterword, sheesh! Ahh, how neat to not just do
well at the show, but have fun on the weekend while there!
