Workers Astonished At Animal Cruelty
Frankfort, KY, July 23 - It was quite a shock. Franklin County Humane
Society officials say they couldn't believe the conditions inside a trailer
in Franklin County.
Seventy dogs were inside the trailer and another 33 were tied up
outside. Workers said they had never seen anything like it, this many
animals penned up in a confined space.
They found puppies in the cabinets and some even inside a stove. Some
of the dogs had apparently been trained to fight. Some of the dogs had limps
and most appear to be inbred.
Police have arrested NAME REMOVED for criminal abuse of a mentally
handicapped man who lived in the trailer and for cruelty to animals.
Now workers at the animal shelter are desperate for help. These dogs
nearly doubled the population of the animal shelter. Most are malnourished
and are in urgent need of medical attention.
