These viruses work their mischief, once they are received by the
"sender",  in part by sending messages to recipients listed in the
infected (i.e., the "sender's") address books and by attaching
themselves to those messages without the "sender's" knowledge.  I
seriously doubt that "Dr. Amy", or anybody else who has had this virus
on their computer, had any knowledge that this had happened when the
message was sent.  I also don't think  that she or anyone else who has
gotten this virus has somehow sent it because they have "gotten smarter"
or that she or anybody else who has had it did anything insidious.  Your
inference to the contrary is just silly.
