Please be advised that at approximately 5:00 p.m. 6/16/01, my computer became infected
with a virus called PE Magistr.dam. I believe at this time I have removed the virus
from my system through the use of a virus scanning, detection and removal program (I
used PC-Cillin's Home Call scan).

However since once person has already informed me that an infected message came from
my computer, it is impossible to know how many other infected messages were sent.

Please be advised if you are receiving this message, that I have not sent you any
e-mails today that have file attachments. If you have received or do receive an
e-mail from me today that either (a) appears to be a portion of a document (b)
contains any gibberish, or (c) has *any file attachments* please *delete the e-mail
immediately*. If you receive such an e-mail and delete it immediately without
accessing the attachments, you should not become infected. However if you did access
the attachments, or as a precautionary measure, you may want to consider running a
virus detection program.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone receiving an infected
message from this account. I am typically able to spot a virus before becoming
infected. However in this instance, the e-mail I received resembled a document I
thought might be for work. Just goes to show anyone can get caught if you don't take
the proper precautionary measures.
