I, too feel terrible for you. I had the experience of two of ours
running off some years back and thought I'd lose my mind. We had
printed posters with a reward and thought of offering a pup to whoever
returned the bitch if the people were suitable. We were about to put
ads in the newspapers. Thankfully, they weren't gone more than many
hours. Turned out that they were at a neighbor's house a few doors down.
Amazing how these guys make themselves looks "starving waifs" when they
are well fed and cared for dogs. I would post at the nearest grocery to
where she left; everyone goes to the grocery store.
We're praying for her safe return! More than likely she has made
herself special to someone else who is going to be devestated to find
out that the lovely dog they thought was lost (some people are in real
denial)can't be kept by them.
In one other case, the posters did help someone as once they were
posted it was impossible for the person "taking care of" the dog to
ignore that someone else owned her.
