Sandra, I have two whelping boxes I use. One my husband made at my instruction out of wood but another that does for when they get a bit bigger--like three weeks old that may help you. Simple. 1 large plastic crate with one side sitting in the other and between the two where there is an air space I place the dog heating pad. I would cut a carpet piece--aired for several days--to the size of the crate and cover that with newspaper until the birthing is over. To cover the top of the crate stretch a towel and clamp it on each end to keep drafts out. When the kids are starting to crawl you can connect the two openings and put newspaper in one side for them to crawl into to potty.Works great!
