Hello Annette

In answer to your query - Our New Zealand Kennel Club recognises the
American Kennel Club as the governing body for the USA and recognises and
accept pedigrees/Championship titles issued by them. To my knowledge the
NZKC does not recognise and accept pedigrees/Championship titles issued by
the CKCSC.

This would also apply to Judges unfortunately, although NZ Judges haven't
been sanctioned in the past (including myself judging in 1995 as Cavaliers
weren't fully recognised by the AKC then).

I think you will find the same rules apply in other countries too if you
tried to register a pedigree issued for a CKCCS registry only dog. I would
presume this also applies to the recognition of Championship status. The AKC
does not recognise and record titles from countries other than it's own,
which is very disappointing and an issue which they have been taken to task
on by several countries ruling bodies. As we all know those international
titles are something hard-won and to be extremely proud of.

Out of curiosity which countries would sanction a judge for judging a CKCSC
show?
Which countries would not recognise CKCSC Ch. on a pedigree but would
recognise AKC Ch.? Again just curious.
Lastly why shouldn't a Championship show be a "social" event as well as
competitive?- I can think of several in the UK which would be considered
such - I would seriously miss my sherry and mince pies at the Midland Club
champ show if they ever stopped it and the CKCS Club show I am sure most
from overseas who have attended would agree is very definitely a social
event.
