Right this moment I am so P***ed off at every single heads-up-their-butts
major airline company in North America that I don't know whether to cry or
scream or what. Here's the situation:

Last Friday, Aug 31, I sent my girl (the apple of my eye of course, oh yes of
course it just had to be my favourite dog in the world!) out on Air Canada on
a direct flight to San Francisco to be bred. At the time I had already asked
this question of Vancouver Air Canada Cargo who takes all the bookings but I
wanted confirmation from a live body at Edmonton International Air Canada
Cargo before I let _my_ dog out of my sight that I would have NO trouble
getting her back here to me this Friday, Sept 7th. I was assured beyond all
shadow of a doubt not to worry, not to fret, all would be well. Be sure to
bring my proof of ownership and Bob's your uncle. Horse FEATHERS!!

It turns out that Air Canada is the ONLY airline that flies direct back from
San Francisco to Edmonton - good, right? Well, little glitch here - the
Cargo and the Customs employees neglected to tell me that whoever ships her
from San Fran also must have an account with Air Canada!! $%(&*$^%@*$, and
other unladylike language!

The owner of the stud dog dog not have a shipper # with Air Canada, but he is
doing his best to hunt one up. In the meantime I feel helpless and at the
mercy of the powers that be and like my beautiful girl is being held hostage
in a forein land by the FAA! The FAA regulations apparently mean that anyone
who tries to send her back to me must be a known shipper, and yet in my years
shipping dogs out for rescue many times into the US I have never once had any
difficulties! Northwest can take her too, from a known shipper, but she
would be intransit for 12 hours for a 3 hour flight; they would route her
through Minneapolis (which of course is way the blazeseast of CA AND
Alberta)!?!! And guess what the fee would be? More than TRIPLE what it cost
her tofly her down there, which is plain robbery.

The other alternative is simply NOTAN OPTION - The stud owner _could_ put
her with a broker/pet service to transport her back to me. God only knows
what the cost of THAT would be, but that is not why it's not an option. I
feel that it's just out of the question because they would want to KENNEL her
overnight AND that means they would take her out of her crate and TOUCH my DOG
! NO WAY!! Plus, she is not vaccinated against kennel cough and that's a
barrier again.

I am asking please that anyone on this list who _IS_ a known shipper to Air
Canada (or anyone who has any ideas at all) to please volunteer your
ideas/thoughts or to help me get my dog back home from San Francisco to
Edmonton International Airport, Canada!! If you can help, please email me me
directly at <A HREF="mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]";>[EMAIL PROTECTED]</A>
as soon as possible!!
