It sounds to me like you're going about things the right way, and I'm sorry
you were subjected to a "vehement" private post from someone who is apparently
afraid that anyone new (especially anyone with AKC ties) is out to GET the
Cavalier breed. There do seem to be some out there who regard the Cavalier as
their own exclusive breed, and not very welcoming of newcomers. When I read
your first post, I discerned no ominous undertones of bad intentions on your
part. Read everything you can find, and enjoy this list. There's a lot to be
learned here.
