Aside from making a donation to the National Disaster and Search Dog
Foundation, and certainly it is a wonderful idea to send boots and vet wrap
for the dogs, I have not only asked for donations from my office, but went on
the computer site for all Realtors in Northern New Jersey and requested
donations for that purpose. This is not about the dogs. You do not need to
be a dog lover to see the need for these supplies. Whatever type of work you
may do, I am certain that a request for the dogs that are sniffing out the
victims would be readily agreed to. Additionally, I have contacted the
Foundation to offer to house some of their heroes. In reading their website,
I did see a request for temporary housing. If anyone else lives in the NY
metro area, you might want to call or email to see if you might be able to
help.
