Dear List, J-B heard yesterday about the need for dog boots, and has donated all that were in stock here of the larger sizes, I believe the K-9 division of the police dept. is distributing them, for the time being. The Chambers St address has not responded and we don't know if it's viable (or even standing at this point). We hear that they now have more than enough for the SAR dogs for their present needs. The manufacturer, Muttluks, is aware of the need and is doing what they can. J-B has had many calls from concerned people wanting to order things to be sent to help the SAR dogs. We have three staff people working now to find exactly what's needed, where it should be sent, and double-and-triple checking the legitimacy of the agencies and addresses. It appears now that the best thing to send is money, sending supplies to the wrong place or supplies that are not needed will do more harm than good. Our people here are trying to find exactly where it will do the most good. Other pet supply companies have been working on this as well, we hear. A link on the J-B website, jbpet.com, has been set up for us to update as soon as we get reliable information. There appears to be much mis-information and confusion even among the public agencies, and we're doing our best to sort all this out. I'm amazed at what our people have been doing and dealing with, and applaud my organization. These statements and opinions are my own. Could you please set up a link whereby those of us who are interested in helping K-9 rescue could purchase some doggy footwear directly from your company and to have it sent to the above address on an expedited basis? I would also ask anybody else who has any connections with firms that supply like products to also set up links so that those of us who are interested in helping the dogs can get protective footwear directly to the dogs ASAP. ========================================================= "Magic Commands": to stop receiving mail for awhile, click here and send the email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20NOMAIL to start it up gain click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20MAIL E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] for assistance.
