Hello everyone; Begging the indulgence of our list administrators, I would like to post an open invitation to any list member that would like to participate in an on- line chat tonight. While the chat channel #Showdogs was set up to allow like-minded show dog people to visit, the channel doesn't *have* to stay "on task", in fact we often stray to subjects far afield from dogs. I would like to offer, to anyone interested, the use of the Showdogs chat channel for discussion about the American situation, the tragedy itself, the rescue or recovery efforts, and anything else that might be burning in the minds and hearts of the diverse group of people in our showdog world. I know how helpful, soothing, and sometimes cathartic it can be to talk when there is a problem or has been a tough situation. It certainly goes without saying that the people of our great nation are going through some incredibly stressful and scary times right now. While I will frequently check email and into the chat-room during the afternoon, I would offer that there will probably be people in the channel in the evening (Pacific time 7 or 8 or so is usually the busiest). If there are people interested, perhaps we can set up a time that some east- coasters might like to meet earlier? The channel is available 24 hours a day, so anyone may arrange to meet others there at any time. While I must acknowledge my quiet lack of list participation recently, I will promise to respond right away to any requests for help to get online for chatting. It's easy to do, either with a chatting program or using the java chat. (You must be java enabled to use the webchat) Shadowworld's site is: http://www.shadowworld.net/javachat.html - when the site opens it will ask you to 'okay' a tiny java download, click okay, it's safe! You would type in a "nick" (name), and then type in the channel name, which is Showdogs. Then chat away, whatever is in your heart or on your mind.
