Dear List,
I sent this by mail tonight with a heavy heart, but send it to you all
now so that there can be NO mistake in any mind about my actions. I
have done nothing for which to be censured, but choose to tender this
rather than find some sneaky way to get around foolish rules in which I
do not believe. In all candor I did consider doing what many have
already done; find a way to do a breeding to a wonderful dog whose
registration is suspended by CKCSC USA but is right for my breeding
program and somehow slip through a loophole quietly. I decided instead
to be honest; I have an over-active conscience that won't let me sleep
otherwise. Let no one speculate about my stance in this matter, but
have complete clarity:

Re: Resignation of Membership
Dear Members of the Board:
I hereby tender my resignation to the Board of Directors of the
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of the USA. I also hereby tender my
resignation to all regional clubs including the Cavaliers of the
Northeast, The Cavaliers of the South, The Cavaliers of the Midwest and
the Cavaliers of the West.
In this time of grief, I have come to decide that I have no more time
in my life for people who wish to exclude others. I have no more time
for petty fights about issues that are long past and are long past due
in finding solutions. I have no more time to suffer fools. The recent
tragic events have highlighted how small and mean spirited this argument
has become. In the light of the death of a family member, I cannot
stand with those who would hurt others in any way, especially for their
differences of opinion.
I have spent all the time and effort which I will spend on trivial
argument about forgiving those who with their good conscience and
courage took a different way than your own. I will make my breeding
decisions based on the good of the breed and not for the good of
anyone's need to feel righteous.
I cannot and will not abide by a so-called "Code of Ethics" which seeks
to punish members based on intelligent breeding decisions that benefit
our beloved breed; the wonderful dogs who are genuinely our comforters
in these terribly troubled times. In my opinion this "Code of Ethics"
is self-serving, a restraint on alienation, and an exclusive means of
punishing the weak while letting the powerful slip through on
technicalities. I have no respect for this and cannot and will not be a
part of it any longer.
Please count me as standing along with the twelve who had the foresight
and courage to leave and stand for all this time alone.

rumors or I wouldn't have posted this. I will not comment further on
this on the list.
