Hi everyone!
I am unable to tell you how well Cavaliers do with litter box training but I can
tell you that it works well with the Golden litters I have helped whelp and
raise. At about 3 1/2 weeks the puppies get moved from the whelping nest into an
ex-pen with toys and mini agility equpiment and on one side we put in a sweater
box with a portion cut out (so that the pups don't have to climb over) and add
the dog litter (shavings work too) and the pups catch on in about a day or so.
Much less cleaning to do. Some moms will still go and clean up after the pups in
the sweater box (yuk) though. Of course there is the occasional accident outside
the "litter box" but it is much nicer to clean up after one pup who makes a
mistake than 10. I hope this helps.
