I decided to look this up.

Glucosamine is made from the chitine from the outer shell of shellfish.

For a good explanation of what Glyco-flex is, go to

It does contain all major glucosamines, as well as chondtoitin.  So it
really is much the same thing--have no idea how they compare in actual
amounts of glucosamine and chondroitin as compared to human supplements
though.
