Hi Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear of your loss...how heartbreaking it must be for you and your family. Did the vet ever say why the antibiotics that you had been giving your girl did not take care of the infection that had affected her lungs? Was the infection due to the anesthesia? I know that with humans, pnemonia is something that you have to keep an eye out for after surgery. My son contracted pnemonia after being operated on for pyloric stenosis when he was an infant and had to be rehospitalized for that.
