Hi, Denise,
I'll post the last three days day by day; sorry I was just too beat to
do it until now. We had a vet emergency last night; and this one I'm
going to write a bit about as I never would have thought it would
happen.
One of our bitches went out for her last "outs" and came back with a
few burrs. I pulled what I thought were all of them before going to
bed. I was almost asleep when I heard a piteous crying. I raced
downstairs to find my bitch choking on what was a clump of stuck burrs
that she had groomed out of her underbelly somewhere (which I obviously
had not found). The burrs were stuck in her trachea causing a lot of
misery and beginning to cut off the airway. THANK GODS for my wonderful
vet who met me in less than fifteen minutes and managed to maneuver them
down with lubrication so that they would pass; she said that they would
soften and perhaps cause a bit of stomach upset but luckily nothing more
as we had caught it fast.
As I had about two and a half hours sleep last night and raced back to
the show (and none of the dogs slept either!) we are scratching tomorrow
and trying to recoop a bit.

Well.....Worcester show is next weekend. <G>

I'll post the show results by class in the next three posts after we
have dinner.

I hope some one benefits from this story; we are cutting down all burr
bearing plants/bushes as soon as possible!
