Forwarded with permission from the dogwriters list: The author of this message is Ginger Scott whose e-mail address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] and she would appreciate it if you would each forward it into every e-list you read to spread the word. Ray and Ginger Scott were "big names" in Beagles when I was a novice exhibitor in the 1970s and in more recent years I believe he is or was a field rep or something for AKC. My memory fails me in this regard ... They are very nice people whom I met personally at a National Beagle Specialty I attended many years ago. She is heartbroken over this loss.
-> While I am a lurker on this list and rarely post anything, I would like to -> ask the lists help in looking out for my 40 year dog collection which was -> stolen from my property within the past week. It may have been as late as -> Thursday. My husband and I are in the process of moving and all of my -> Beagle, Foxhound and Poodle figurines had been packed and stored for the -> move. They are all gone. I feel there is a very good chance that whoever -> took them will try to sell them as a collection. I am located in Central -> New York and I fear that they will take them out of state to do this. If -> you would all be on the lookout for a sudden influx of many, many beagle -> and foxhound figurines in an antique store or collectible shop in your area. -> There are also several Poodle figures in the collection. -> Also taken were two dish barrels full of pewter and silverplate, most of -> them dog show trophies and many were engraved with either the kennel club -> logo or initials of the KC or the win. There were 12 pewter glass bottomed -> mugs with the Canadian Sportsmen Show logo on them, two wine coolers, three -> silver pitchers, many serving dishes, all collected from many years of -> showing. I feel as though someone has taken my life from me. A huge silver -> Revere bowl engraved "Best In Show" "Ch. Kamelot's Queen Bee". These are -> items that can never be replaced. I used these things to decorate my home -> and now are all gone for the new house. -> If anyone should notice a large collection of dog show items suddenly in -> their area, please email me with the name of the shop and I will -> investigate -> it further. I have already contacted all the antique dealers, pawn brokers -> and auctioneers in my area. I know this list is active and helpful and I -> would really appreciate anything anyone can do. . . . . . .Ginger Scott Thanks in advance for any help any of you can give Ginger and Ray. Maybe some of you who write newspaper columns could give this theft a mention and ask your readers who frequent antique shops and garage sales to watch out for the collection ... -- Kim Thornton [EMAIL PROTECTED] Lake Forest, CA ========================================================= "Magic Commands": to stop receiving mail for awhile, click here and send the email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20NOMAIL to start it up gain click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20MAIL E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] for assistance.
