If a breeder is not considered a miller or a backyard breeder I guess they could be termed a hobby breeder. Most folk expect their hobby to cost them something, they certainly don't expect to make money from it. Although no longer breeding, when I was, if I broke even on a litter I considered I was ahead of the game. The bottom line should always be an appropriate home not price.
