I would be interested in knowing why in most breeds a stud fee of a proven CH stud is at least the selling price of a pet puppy and in many the stud fee would equal the price of a show puppy. It sounds to me like Cavalier stud fees are not even half the price of a pet puppy. Why is that? Aren't our boys worth it?
If you have a stud servicing outside bitches it is a lot of work. The household is disrupted for at least a week. It gets even more complicated if there isn't cooperation between the two or the bitch was sent late. Not to mention if you have more than one stud dog on the premises and your own bitch is in season etc. To top it all off, the stud gets the blame for everything that may not be perfect about the puppies. Any answers?
