Now that I've waded through 2 days of CKCS-L digests -- of course the two busiest days since I signed on not long ago! -- I am going to interrupt our regular broadcast to say that I no longer have to sign "Future Cavalier" in my sig line because....
DarkStar American Beauty, aka Rose, arrived in Indiana from Oregon Tuesday evening, and we're thrilled! After a long day at the airport and on the plane, Ms. Rose (formerly known as Birdy and now accumulating new names, including Ms. Birdy Rose) came wriggling out of her crate at the Cincinnati airport and planted lots of kisses on me and my hubby. Then she slept during the 3-hour drive home to Bloomington, and when we got here at 10:30 p.m. she was ready to PLAY! It was 60 degrees here, so we went out in the yard and Rose had a lovely crazy dog attack, fetching leaves, chasing a ball, and generally charming us with her wonderful attitude and sweetness. She met the big dogs (Aussies and a Lab) fearlessly (and now has the Aussie boys wrapped around her little paw). It's amazing how much a 6-pound puppy can disrupt my regular schedule, but OTOH, who cares? ;-) I'm planning to show Rose (a bit different from showing Aussies!), and she's already started obedience with her natural perfect "front" and eager retrieves. I think therapy/Canine Ambassador work is in her future, too, and maybe some agility. She'll keep me out of trouble :-) I have a strong premonition that this will not be the last Cavalier in our home! Thank you, Sandra Reiley-Lince and the DarkStar gang, for this beautiful Blenheim puppy girl, and for being wonderful to deal with. (No, Sandra, you can't have her back!)
