Hi Marilyn,

This article about tear staining by a Maltese Breeder called TEAR STAINING:
CAUSES & CURES should answer all of your questions about the method that
Susan is using. When I need to bleach, I use the bleaching method she
describes using 40 vol. peroxide, Phillips Milk Of Magnesia (I use the brand
name product) and cornstarch. It works very well. I have also used TYLAN
Powder as she suggests to prevent the staining from occurring and this
reduces the staining very significantly (it will also work on staining
around the mouth on foreheads and on the feet). My vet, who is extremely
conservative, assures me this is completely safe. Without further adieu
here is the web site: http://www.bhejei.com/tearsta.htm
BTW, you can puchase TYLAN Powder, at the best price I've found, through KV
VET (Pg 16. of their Pet Catalog). You call call them at
1-800-423-8211 for a catalog or visit their web site at
http://www.kvvet.com All orders over $40.00 are shipped free of charge and
there is no sales tax. I hope this helps you.
Best,
Susan
