Chris & Ann,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of your girl, who in all probability,
was the oldest living Cavalier in the States. Having to put a treasured pet
"to sleep" is without a doubt one of the most difficult decisions we will
ever make, however, it is often the kindest and most loving thing we can do.
As for you girl, she lived a long and happy life with you and that is such a
blessing! Although your heart must be breaking at losing "Bertha"... She
didn't go alone as she knows she is still within your heart and always will
be...If she could speak to you from the other side where she is now, this is
what I think she'd want to say to you:
"Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you ...
I loved you so ---
'twas Heaven here with you"
