Myra, you are so right, and conceivably is the right word. However in my experience I can often say that my bitches have more litters i.e. 2-3 than my boys have studs. The other most important thing is that the bitches are carrying fetuses, the boys are not. I really feel that both dog and bitch need to be tested each time and if either have a problem then the appropriate remedy is prescribed. I'm sorry I cannot accept that "blanket" antibiotics is a good approach and I'm sure contributes to the high level of resistance.
